From The Founder

I'm in my mid-thirties, originally from Riga, and I've now lived abroad longer than I ever lived in my own country. Italy, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland — and then, eight years ago, Stockholm, where I stopped moving.

That's the part I'd want you to know first. After all that, this is the city I chose to stay in. The long light in June. The way the whole place goes quiet in July. The fact that you can be on a forest trail forty minutes after leaving your front door.

And I did make friends here — good ones, the kind you build over years. But life goes on, in the way it does in your thirties. People move to the suburbs, or back to their home country. Children arrive. Jobs change — mine did, from years in fashion to working in sustainability — and the colleagues you saw every day become people you mean to message. Nobody falls out. The calendar just quietly stops filling itself.

For a long time I assumed this was a moving problem — something that would resolve once I'd been in one place long enough. It didn't. And when I talked to people here who've never lived anywhere else, they described exactly the same thing.

That's when it stopped looking like a personal failing and started looking like a structural one. Friendship needs repetition — the same people, in the same place, often enough that things become easy. School gives you that. Early jobs give you that. Adult life mostly doesn't, and no amount of good intentions makes up for it.

So The Slow Social Club is my attempt at putting the repetition back.

You would be very welcome at any of them. Come along to something, take your time — and I can't wait to meet you.

Our Vision

Our Mission

We envision a Stockholm where social connection is a deliberate, unhurried act of care. We aim to cultivate a space where adults 33+ can rediscover the joy of presence, fostering a community rooted in genuine friendship and shared, meaningful experiences.

We are dedicated to creating a slower, richer social life in Stockholm. By hosting small, curated gatherings, we provide a shared space for adults 33+ to meet like-minded people, engage in meaningful conversations, and enjoy beautiful, unhurried moments together.
